A multipoint lock engages five or six points simultaneously when the key turns — hooks, rollers, deadbolts all moving at once down the length of the door. When one component fails, the whole system usually stops. Your door might be stuck shut, or it might close but refuse to lock. Either way, forcing the handle makes things worse.
The diagnosis matters more than the parts. A door that won’t lock could be a failed gearbox, a broken hook, a worn roller, or a door that’s dropped slightly in its frame and is putting too much load on the mechanism. Getting the diagnosis wrong means fitting parts that don’t fix the problem.
